Lenin believes that Obama’s.....

Lenin thinks Obama's victory does not destroy the "thousand threads" and the capitalist state, but his platform will help the working class organize class struggle. I think Obama receiving campaign fund from the workers obligates him to grant workers succesions, which allow for workers' social mobility in a capitalist state.

Lenin believes that Obama’s victory would not eliminate the capitalists’ connection to the bureaucracy and capitalism would sustain to repress the workers. In contrast, I think it eliminates some capitalists’ connection while establishing new ones with the workers. It creates a milder form of capitalism that allows for workers’ upward social mobility.

Lenin thinks that Obama’s promise of change gives people an illusion that they changed the government by voting (Lenin, 342). But the “thousand threads” that connects Obama to the capitalists remains hidden behind the “capitalist democracy” (Lenin, 319) Obama did not take the lobbyists’ money but he did from the rich. Their same interests as the lobbyists and their money will perpetuate the capitalist state as the vehicle for the capitalists’ domination (Lenin, 315).

Furthermore, Obama will empower the workers with universal health care and education. And the “capitalist democracy” gives the workers space to assemble and organize class struggle (Lenin, 360). Class struggle will intensify and lead to revolution.

In contrast, I think Obama diminished the capitalists’ connection to the bureaucracy by refusing the most powerful lobbyists’ money. His receiving money from the grassroots donors established connections with the workers. The “hundred threads” that connects him to both the rich and the working class influence his administration and obligate him to serve both.

Moreover, Obama grants the workers universal healthcare and education to compromise class conflicts rather than intensifying class struggle. His unprecedented victory inspires the younger generation and minorities, who are usually in the working class, to ascend socially under a capitalist state.

Lenin thinks that Obama is just another “talking shop” under capitalist democracy (Lenin, 342). His capitalist connection perpetuates class domination while his platform empowers workers to organize class struggle. Contrastingly, Obama reduced the capitalists’ bureaucratic ties and built working class connections. His victory symbolically and materially compromises workers’ struggle and allows them to achieve higher social status.

With a well-structured essay, you made your point very clearly and your argument is convincing. You also did an excellent job in comparing and contrasting Lenin and Obama. I agree with you and enjoyed reading it. =)
